I had a fantastic stay at this hotel on a beautiful island. The staff, especially Melania, were extremely kind and helpful, going out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. They even helped arrange activities for me. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, exactly what I was looking for. The breakfast on the terrace was lovely, and the cleanliness of the room was appreciated.
No mention of any negative aspects.

The hotel staff is amazing: the ladies in reception are very kind; Michele totally professional, paying attention to every detail to make your stay as good as possible, the cheff of high quality (the best place I have eaten in all Sicilia). I fully recommend it!
No complaints since the staff and the hotel is very nice. Just a suggestion already shared: a swimming pool would make the hotel perfect!

The managers were attentive and extremely helpful. They were knowledgable of the area and it's offerings and were happy to arrange activites for their guests. Melania, the host/receptionist was extremely kind and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. She made many phone calls on our behalf to arrange for activities and to insure that we were well taken care of. She was the true definition of a host. In addition, they have a high quality restraint and a very nice aperativo. Although the town is not on the sea, I preferred it as it was a bit quieter and and more relaxed than the more touristic locations. With a scooter, you are at the sea after aten minute beautiful drive down the hill.
While the rooms were nice and clean, but they were a bit dark. That being said, we spent little time in the room so this did not bother us much. Besides this, the facilities are very nice.

wonderful view and quiet location. staff was very helpful and friendly giving advice on where to go, to eat and how to move around. the hotel has very good restaurant with excellent seafood and sicilian cuisine. do not miss MIchele's spaghetti with crumbs. The place is ideal for a relaxing / romantic holiday. the hotel is located in Leni and Salina is a reatively big island. The location of the hotel was however not a real problem for us, indeed the place is particularly quiet, beautiful and not too touristic and we could easily move around with a scooter rented at reasonable rates.
the hotel was just perfect for us.

I liked - the wonderful cooking of the owner for the diners, - the availability and kindness of the staff (the owners) - the sea view, - the comfort of the rooms (space), TV) and various terrasses with sun lounger and the cleanliness. The quietness of the area (which may be considered as a drawback if you want night life). The beach is also not so near but you have transoprtations (busses).

I find the location of this hotel great. It's situated on a beautiful island, not far from a quiet beach and close to the port, which makes it convenient for those who want to explore the area. the service is good and the staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. the breakfast is lovely, and the room and bathroom are clean and well-kept. the view is stunning, overlooking the sea, and the facilities are excellent, with comfortable beds and spacious rooms.
The only downside of this hotel is that their restaurant is not open yet due to remodeling, but it should be ready for high season.

Simple, but very pleasant rooms design, magnificent view on the sea, high class food, helpful staff
At first we considered it a drawback that we were brought also dishes we did not order. But they proved to be so tasty that we did not regret it :)

My husband and I had the good fortune to be at the Solemar at a time when we virtually had the place to ourselves. We had a room on the second floor with a wide, shaded and nominally shared balcony, but in our case we didn't have to share it with anybody. Our room had two very comfortable loungers outside as well as a little padded sofa and chair, and a table. The sea view was lovely. The staff are delightful - only two of them - one, Michele, is the nephew of the owner, and is in charge of the breakfast and cooking in the evening. He also was kind enough to meet us from the port in Rinella and deliver us back again on departure. The other staff member is Michele's girlfriend (Melanie?) who works on reception, behind the bar, waitressing etc. Neither speaks much English, especially Michele, but with my self-taught rudimentary Italian we managed to muddle through. Oh yes, there was also a lady keeping the whole place immaculately clean. Breakfast not bad by Italian standards and evening meal tasty (as long as you like fish) but I'd say rather expensive. I understand most things have to be shipped in but we were eating local fish, at 13-15 euros?
The setting of the Solemar is a small village called Leni which is 3km from Rinella where the ferry docks. The village itself is peaceful (apart from the inevitable scooters) and has a grocery shop and bakers. It is however a strenuous walk in the heat to what passes for the beach (small, black sand and relatively litter-strewn compared to others we saw on our travels). The water had plastic bottles etc floating in it and was in case difficult to get into without rubber-soled shoes on account of lots of slippery rocks.

The hotel is located on a beautiful island, providing stunning views of both Vulcano and Etna. It offers a peaceful escape from the busier port towns, allowing guests to truly experience the island's interior. The hotel staff are extremely welcoming and offer knowledgeable advice for hiking and exploring the area. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located near the bus stop, making it easy to get around and discover all the island has to offer.
All in all, this hotel exceeded our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Quite new and very attractive hotel, with comfortable rooms, a fantastic panoramic ocean view and a very spacious balcony/terrace. Located in Leni, just above Rinella, on Isola Salina, which is small, very nice and tranquil.

It is a great small hotel with fabulous staff. Located in a quiet area in the small village of Leni. We had a spacious room with a large private terrace and a great view over the sea. Michele and Melania, who run the hotel, were extremely helpful and informative. The food is delicious - extremely high standard and great value for money. We highly recommend it. We would LOVE to return!
